Compulsory Purchase & Compensation

We act on behalf of clients who are affected by a variety of Compulsory Purchase Schemes - including Land Acquisition (including for Road Improvement Schemes). If the acquiring authority (e.g. the Welsh Assembly) need to purchase land for a particular scheme then in such circumstances we can be engaged to negotiate with them. Your entitlement to compensation will be investigated and negotiated in respect of any compensation payable for the value of any land acquired and/or compensation for such matters as 'injurious affection' and 'disturbance'. Even where no land is purchased from a Client, compensation may still be payable in certain circumstances.

We are happy to discuss any matters with potential clients without any obligation. It should be emphasised that the acquiring authority, in addition to any compensation entitlement, usually meets any fees payable to Walker Jones.

Rent Reviews & Lease Renewals

e.g. on commercial premises such as shops and factories. We are able to act for landlords or tenants in maters relating to rent reviews and the renewal/surrender of leases on commercial and semi-commercial properties.

Rating Appeals

e.g. we can advise on the merits of conducting Appeals against the Rateable Values on commercial premises and advise as to the possibility of a successful reduction in Assessment.
